I have just spent two sunny days oop north as well as a lovely night in a place called Hamsterley Forest in order to do a site visit for Art Land, which takes place in April in Bishop Auckland. I am making a limited edition zine to be placed around the town, presenting an outsider’s view of the place as a town newsletter. I’m excited about getting stuck in, and as the project is funded it means I can spend plenty of time thinking it through/drawing etc.
I also have to plug the b and b we stayed in as it was just sublime, in the middle of the forest, with a hot tub (cossie will be packed next time!) and we were fed like we were being fattened up for winter hibernation, plus it was all such good value. Anyway, if you need a random trip away, go here I tell you: http://www.hamsterleyforestbandb.com/
I will taking myself and all my books to BABE (Bristol Artists’ Book Event) at the Arnolfini Gallery on April 4th & 5th this year. After organising last year’s in Liverpool, I thought it was about time I had a table at one myself.
Come and visit if you’re in the area..
I am a veritable book factory at the moment. The drawings for this one; Places for Hiding have been around for a long time, but have always needed putting into a book. Places for Thinking and Places for Shelter in progress…

Lost at Sea is ready, just in time for the opening of ‘Climate for Change’ opening at FACT, Liverpool on Thursday 12th March. The book looks at those historic buildings that have been left behind with development, and as a result sit amidst incongruous new architecture or simply just alone.
The ‘dusty islands’ perch on precarious platforms above the sea.
Inkjet printed, stitched booklet housed in a tracing paper bottle envelope.
Edition of 20, priced at £7.50 from the FACT bookshop.
